About Kensite Events

Kensite is one of the North West’s leading independent hirers of portable toilets and welfare stations, mobile site accommodation and secure onsite storage solutions.

Formed in 1988 as a hirer of mobile chemical toilets to the North West’s construction industry, we have expanded our product range since then to meet our customers’ evolving requirements. Today, our product range includes portable toilets, static and mobile welfare cabins, toilet blocks and stores.

Privately-owned Kensite’s operations are based on the Chanters Industrial Estate in Atherton, Greater Manchester. From this location our senior management team, supported by a dedicated and highly ­experienced workforce of drivers, fitters and administrative staff, is responsible for a hire fleet of more than 1,500 welfare and storage units. We also offer a wide range of generators for hire at competitive prices using our specialist hire partners.

Our client base ranges from local event organisations to the UK’s largest music festival. As such, our systems are designed to service customer requirements of all sizes, be it 1 unit or 100 units.

We are passionate about quality standards and carry ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation.

Meet our team

A strong team with years of experience

Steve Connelly

Managing Director

Steve joined Kensite as Managing Director in September 2019 when the business was acquired by a consortium of local businessmen.  Prior to this Steve, a Chartered Accountant specialising in mergers and acquisitions, was employed for 10 years by the Ainscough Group of companies.

Steve has overall responsibility for all of Kensite’s day to day operations.

John Horan

Operations Manager

John is one of Kensite’s longest serving employees having joined the company as an electrician in 2007. He was promoted to the position of Operations Manager in 2019 in recognition of his extensive knowledge of all operational aspects of the business.

 

Barry Richardson

Key account Manager

Barry joined our team in 2019. He is responsible for liaising with our key customers as well as supporting John and the team with day to day operations.

 

James Pownall

Transport Manager

James joined Kensite as Transport Manager in 2019 and has responsibility for managing our in-house transport fleet and co-ordinating our third party transport partners.

Prior to joining Kensite, James worked in the transport department of a large national recycling company.

Dawn Calland

Hire Desk Supervisor

Dawn is one of our long serving employees having started as an administrative assistant in 2003. She was promoted to the position of Hire Desk Supervisor in 2019 and is now the recognised voice of Kensite for our customers.

 

Victoria Jackson

Credit Controller

Victoria is a recent recruit to Kensite having joined in January 2020. She aims to work closely with our customers to enable them to maintain their accounts up to date.
